Do you really think non-revenue sports are going to bring fans to the ACCN?
Hint: there is a reason they're called "non-revenue" sports.
Not sure why you think being "rejected by a conference (ACC)" is a negative mark against VT. Frankly, that tells me how shortsighted the ACC was in VT's previous petitions for membership. I have no idea why you, a CU fan, holds that against us.
The same goes for the "6 conferences in 50 years. Would like to see how many national championships Wake or Clemson would have won under similar circumstances.
Not sure what numbers you're using for WF having a population that is 5X larger than VT. Are you comparing the population of Winston Salem vs Blacksburg? If so, that is laughable. If you want to compare populations, you should compare fan base populations. VT owns the Commonwealth of Virginia...basically everywhere outside of Charlottesville. WF only owns a minor sliver of Winston Salem. Would wager there are 10X more UNC fans in WS than WF fans.
Profit? Are you really complaining that VT is operating "in the black?" Once again, don't understand your reasoning.
Now that VT is a member of a stable conference (for the first time since the Southern Conference), do you think those conference championships and post season participation rates are going to be indicative of the next 50 years? Seriously?
